Taught by an International Master
Andranik Matikozyan has taught chess for more than 20 years. He won the Soviet Union championship for his age group at 10, took silver at the European Junior Championship, and played for Armenia at the 1996 World Chess Olympiad.
Today he coaches young players for Team USA — and gives every beginner in his Las Vegas classes the same attention.

Is my child ready if they are a complete beginner?
Yes. Kids and teens ages 6–15 are welcome at every skill level, including children learning the rules for the first time.
Do you offer group classes and private lessons?
Yes. Both group classes and private lessons are available. Coach Andranik will help you choose the format that best matches your child’s experience and goals.
When and where do classes meet?
Group classes meet Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, 5:00–6:00 PM, plus a second Wednesday class, 6:00–7:00 PM, at 5530 S. Jones Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89118. Private lessons are scheduled with the coach.
Who teaches the lessons?
Every class is led by Andranik Matikozyan — a FIDE International Master, Senior FIDE Coach, and World Youth & Cadet Coach for Team USA with more than 20 years of teaching experience.
How does the trial class work?
Request a trial with the form on this page. Coach Andranik calls you personally, usually within 24 hours, to learn about your child and pick the right class. We then email the class details and a link to confirm your seat. There is no pressure or obligation.
